What a beautiful day for a beach walk with Sharon and then...

...Marsha invited me to join her at Disney Hall for a concert. We ate first at that place opposite the Broad...

...and then heard some excellent Mahler and a couple of other pieces by composers I'd never heard, conducted by a 100 pound 29 year old Lithuanian waif-woman named Mirga Gražinytė-Tyla.

Another picture of Cynthia's Kai, with a mouse for scale.

It's a STOVE! I had leftover cookie dough in the fridge from Tuesday and that stove wasn't in it's slot for two minutes before we, me and Windy, baked us up a tray of cookies. OK!

That the oven door isn't exactly flush on one side but is on the other is BUGGIN'!

Pauli and I met at the Otis College of Art and Design to see their Pacific Standard Time contribution.

The school first opened in 1918 (WOW, I did not know that) followed by a long list of name changes, partnerships, and changing missions.

It looked like a very cool school with an enrollment of a little over 1,000.

"Talking to Action: Art, Pedagogy, and Activism in the Americas"

My favorite collection was a bunch of pińatas with one of the action points being to sell pińata kits so you can make your own. I liked that idea because who keeps all those supplies on hand in our increasingly smaller homes.

This is an altar piece with a lot of symbolism that Pauli is reading about but I haven't got to yet.

Several of the works were LA-Latin America crossovers which is also my favorites themes among the works on offer.

Then Lilly and Kaitlin and I made cookies!

Two birthdays and Maxine's Halloween Extravaganza. TOO FUN!

The birthday girls are our oldest participant Maryanne on the far right, and our youngest participant Lourdes second from the right.

What freaked out all of us is that Lourdes, and did I mention our youngest who we always call the baby, is SIXTY.

They didn't have the installation kit and have to come back on Wednesday. Oh well. It's been a year, it can be a few more days.

October 13

Lucky dog me, lunch with Merlyn and Hilda (Hilda who, being so young, is still working)...

...and dinner with Liz, Gary, and Dev. And birthday flowers toasted with Prosecco in honor of Liz and my birthdays. Thank you!

October 11-12

Check it out here for 24 hours in Catalina with Bonnie:

October 10

Ever since school started we have been so busy from pick-up time at 2:30 until final good-nights around 8:30. Busy busy busy...and nothing but Fun!

October 9

I've been very lax in pictures this month. Here are a few I didn't take and one I did.

Windy and Jeff having a selfie on their vacation/car show in Pennsylvania.

I'm going to Catalina with Bonnie on Wednesday, back on Thursday and it should be fun.

Sweet Addie Rose at a Renaissance Faire.

I got a plant, the Peace Lilly which is supposed to be good for the air. It also needs attending so I have no idea how long it will last. It cost 16 dollars and I've already enjoyed it 16 dollars worth so all is well.

October 7

Cynthia's adorable new puppy! I'm not sure which color is closest to his actual color, probably the one on the left since that's the one Cynthia took.

He's a Miniature Australian Shepherd and I don't know his name yet. Stay tuned!

October 4

This was fun, dinner and show with Ken, Bill, and Cheryl.

October 1-3

Alex, doing everything.

Totally fun projects with Kaitlin.

Marija with homemade Slivovitza from back home served from her mother's pitcher. She said 'Penny, make me a pretty young woman!'.

Windy and Jeff in Philadelphia admiring the Liberty Bell.
